  • Mechanical Engineer – 0-3 years of experience

The Mechanical Engineer position provides the technical design of complex HVAC, plumbing, medical gas and fire protection systems in support of projects for healthcare, higher education and other institutional facilities. The position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of MEP design engineers with direct supervision provided by a senior level mechanical engineer. The candidate will work in a hybrid environment with minimum of 3 days in the Catonsville, Maryland, office and/or on a project site; a 4th day may be required in the office for entry-level candidates for additional training. The remaining time may be worked remotely.

    Responsibilities

The candidate will work with a team of mechanical and electrical engineers to design HVAC, plumbing, medical gas and fire protection systems for healthcare, higher education, and other institutional clients. Under supervision of a more senior engineer, candidate will assist with field survey of existing mechanical systems, develop heating/cooling loads and assist with the mechanical system design from inception of the project through completion of construction. Candidate will work with software programs such as Trane Trace to develop mechanical system load calculations and coordinate with design disciplines for other building systems (such as electrical, structural, site/civil, etc.). Additional responsibilities include or require interaction/communication with the architectural discipline, code analysis and strong computer skills.

    Qualifications

    • BS in Mechanical Engineering (or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering) from an accredited engineering program
    • 0-3 years of experience in load calculations, mechanical system analysis and HVAC, plumbing, medical gas and fire protection system design
    • Must be self-motivated and able to work as part of a project team
    • Must be able to make site visits to verify existing conditions of mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems
    • Candidate must reside within the Mid-Atlantic region

    Preferred But Not Required

    • Design experience with healthcare and higher education projects
    • Experience with design in Autocad and Revit
    • Experience with construction administration activities such as submittal review, attending OAC meetings, review of construction RFI’s, etc.
    • Experience with energy-efficient design and a sustainable approach to design of MEP systems

  • Electrical Engineer – 0-3 years of experience

The Electrical Engineer position provides the technical design of complex normal and emergency power, lighting, and fire alarm systems in support of projects for healthcare, higher education and other institutional facilities. The position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) design engineers with direct supervision provided by a senior level electrical engineer. The candidate will work in a hybrid environment with minimum of 3 days in the Catonsville, Maryland, office and/or on a project site; a 4th day may be required in the office for entry-level candidates for additional training. The remaining time may be worked remotely.

    Responsibilities

The candidate will work with a team of mechanical and electrical engineers to design medium and low voltage power for normal and emergency applications, lighting, fire alarm and information technology systems for healthcare, higher education, and other institutional clients. Under supervision of a more senior engineer, candidate will assist with field survey of existing electrical systems, develop electrical loads and assist with the electrical system design from inception of the project through completion of construction. Candidate will work with software programs to develop lighting designs and electrical system load calculations and coordinate with design disciplines for other building systems (such as mechanical, structural, site/civil, etc.). Additional responsibilities include interaction and communication with the architectural discipline, code analysis and strong computer skills.

    Qualifications

    • BS in Electrical Engineering (or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering) from an accredited engineering program
